Dark Reapers

In need of some ranged heavy firepower these Dark reapers were bought. The exarch has had his weapons magnetised to give Wendlepot options. With the new codex it seems this was a good idea.

The weapons are held in position by a pin protruding from his knee, a 4mm magnet in his loincloth and a 1mm magnet in his wrist which, in hindsight, should have been larger as 1mm magnets are pretty useless. Lining up the magnets and hole in the weapons is very tricky. I used 3mm magnets on the weapons.

Harlequins

The Harlequins' paint scheme is Wendlepot's favourite, but also far and away the hardest. This is why I discourage her from starting painting them until she's finished the rest of the army and built up her skills. I may suggest that each of the ten models is painted as if representing one of the ten Eldar gods, an idea inspired by The Mask of Vyle. The squad is fully pimped: Troupe Leader, Death Jester, Shadowseer, 2 Fusion Pistols. I do hope to equip all models with Harlequin's Kisses but I think that's some delicate greenstuffing.

Rangers

These rangers were one of Wendlepot's first units. They are half painted, the difficulty getting them right, and getting their cloaks to look right, has put them on the back burner.

Wraithlord

Ranged Weapon WraithlordClose Combat Wraithlord
The Wraithlord was a labour of love. It has all options magnetised to enable Wendlepot to change her mind. Above you can see the same model set up as ranged and close combat options.

To add some detail the Wraithlord is standing on a dead Death Company Marine. This allows for his knee to be bent which was achieved by cutting, pinning and then greenstuffing the knee joint.

Both shoulder mounts were added originally to allow 1 weapon on either side as well as whatever was in his hands, sword or gun, but with the new Codex it's possible for a Wraithlord to have 2 heavy weapons and a sword which is possible with this setup.
The head is magnetised on to allow purely for poseability. I used 3 2mm magnets though larger, and closer together magnets may have been better.
The shoulders have double 2mm magnets recessed into them with a locating pin sticking out a few mm below. The arm sides of the join were hollowed out at the right angle to fit flush to the shoulders in position, with a 2mm magnet added and a hole for the locator pin to stop the arms drooping.
The arms are in pairs: a gun holding pair, which accepts magnetised heavy weapons, and sword holding pair, modeled on the Howling Banshee Exarch with Mirror Swords. The right sword arm needed bending so it was cut, pinned and greenstuffed together to get the pose, and similarly to add a right-handed sword to the left hand. If anyone kicks up a stink the left gun holding arm can be used with the right sword arm to have a single close combat weapon.
The wrist weapons have 2mm magnets in place of some of the tab/slot join. On the sword arms the vains are added and greenstuffed smooth on the side of the arms rather than the top, in keeping with the Howling Banshee Exarch or arm-mounted Force Fields.
The feet are magnetised to allow for easy storage and painting. The locator pins on the base make the model sturdy. I think I used 4mm magnets here.

Warlock Council

These warlocks are enough to support Guardian units and still have enough for a council. I was pleased to be able to acquire all eight of the more recently released models. This meant the older two holding Laspistols had to be converted to hold Shuriken Pistols, but that’s easy enough. Wendlepot is a bit disappointed that the Warlocks' colour scheme is no different to Guardians. I'm hoping to paint different coloured Spirit Stones on each model so Wendlepot can keep track of who has what psychic power.

Storm Guardians

The Storm Guardians, here during painting, had a lot of poseability. As with the regular Guardians they're 'led' by a model with a plumed helmet who's one of the two special weapons models. To enable the squad to have any combination of Fusion Gun and Flamer two of each where built.
Flamers                                                                 Fusion Guns
I managed to make the whole squad using Chainswords. Now the new codex is out this was a saving grace as now 2 more models have been made using the (Power) Sword arms, allowing for any combination of models, or a 12 man squad.

Guardians

The Guardians, (mostly) painted in Il'Kaithe colours, are 'led' by one of the the weapon platform crew marked out by his plumed helm. This helm is from a Dire Avenger but some old metal guardians had such plumes implying they were 'sergeants'. The weapon platform is magnetised, as explained on the War Walkers post. Wendlepot has added to the standard colour scheme with purple loin cloths and knee pads and much gold bling.
